Exercise: past simple questions and auxiliaries.

The interrogative in past simple: an exercise on when we use or omit the auxiliary.

Write the questions in past simple using the verb in brackets. In these examples the auxiliary "did" is sometimes used and sometimes omitted.

Examples:
Who (see) the match last night?
Answer:
Who saw     the match last night?

or,

Who you (see) yesterday afternoon?
Answer:
Who did you see     yesterday afternoon?
