Explanation of comparatives...

Make comparative sentences as in the example.

Example:
This PC isn't new. That PC is very new.

That PC is newer    than this PC.

1) The cathedral isn't very old. The castle is very old.

The castle is than the cathedral.

2) John is a careful driver. Mary is a very careful driver.

Mary is a driver than John.

3) There's a lot of pollution in the cities. In the countryside there's very little pollution.

In the countryside there's pollution than in the cities.

4) This film was good. That film was very good.

That film was than this film.

5) The blue sofa isn't very comfortable. The pink sofa is very comfortable.

The pink sofa is than the blue sofa.

6) Jane isn't very beautiful. Helen is extremely beautiful.

Helen is than Jane.

7) Yesterday was a little tiring. Today is extremely tiring.

Today is than yesterday.

8) John is not very lucky in love. Luke is very lucky in love.

Luke is in love than John

9) Last week wasn't very hot. This week is very hot.

This week is than last week.

10) Newton was quite a clever man. Einstein was a very clever man.

Einstein was a man than Newton
